Welcome to Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan also known as the "Pink City" due to the dominant color scheme of its buildings in the old city. Jaipur was founded in 1727 by Sawai Jai Singh II, the Kachhwaha Rajput ruler of Amer, after whom the city is named.[10] It is one of the earliest planned Jaipur a city in modern India, which was designed by Vidyadhar Bhattacharya. It served as the capital of Jaipur State during the British colonial period. After India gained independence in 1947, Jaipur became the capital of the newly formed state of Rajasthan in 1949.

Architecture of Jaipur

1. AMBER FORT: Amer Palace, also known as Amer Fort, is a great example of Rajput architecture located in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The palace was constructed using red sandstone and marble and is laid out on four levels, each with a courtyard. The Diwan-e-Aam or "Hall of Public Audience", the Diwan-e-Khas, or "Hall of Private Audience", the Sheesh Mahal, or the mirror palace, and the Sukh Niwas, where a cool climate is artificially created, are some of the main attractions of the palace.
   
   The palace served as the home for the Rajput Maharajas and their families. At the entrance to the palace near Ganesh Gate, there is a temple dedicated to Shila Devi, a Goddess of the Chaitanya cult. The palace also has an interesting history where Raja Man Singh had 12 queens, so he made 12 rooms, each for one queen, and each room had a staircase"The room was connected to the king's chamber, but the queens were not permitted to go upstairs." Raja Jai Singh had only one queen, so he built one room equal to three old queen's rooms. The Amer Palace is a must-visit destination for anyone interested in history and architecture.
2. HAWA MAHAL - PALACE OF WIND: Hawa Mahal, also known as the Palace of Wind, is a beautiful pink sandstone palace located in the heart of Jaipur's old city. It was built in 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh as an extension of the City Palace. The palace has five floors, with a total of 953 small windows, called jharokhas, which are adorned with intricate latticework. The purpose of these windows was to allow the royal ladies to observe everyday life and festivals in the street below without being seen by outsiders.                   The architecture of Hawa Mahal is a unique blend of Rajput and Mughal styles. The palace's facade resembles the crown of Lord Krishna, with its unique shape and design. The palace also has a small museum with artifacts and exhibits showcasing the history and culture of Jaipur. Visitors can climb up to the top floors of the palace through narrow staircases to get a panoramic view of the city. The view from the top is especially breathtaking during sunrise and sunset. 3. SHEESH MAHAL (HALL OF MIRRORS): Sheesh Mahal, also known as the Hall of Mirrors, is a beautiful palace located inside the Amer Fort complex in Jaipur, Rajasthan. 4. NAHARGHARH FORT: Nahargarh Fort is a majestic fort located on the edge of the Aravalli Hills in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The fort was built in 1734 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II as a means of fortification against potential attacks from enemies. The fort offers breathtaking views of the city and is a popular destination among locals and tourists alike.     One of the highlights of the fort is the Madhavendra Bhawan, a palace built by Maharaja Sawai Madho Singh for his wives.
